On the day you bring your new bunny home, place them in their new hutch. Allow them the space and time to get comfortable and adjust to their new environment. Monitor their droppings, and if there are any changes, reach out to me, and I will guide you on how to address them. It's perfectly fine to talk to your bunny and carry on with your daily routine, so your bunny can get accustomed to new sounds and activities in its surroundings. You can also introduce other pets to your new bunny through the cage, provided they are not attempting to attack or overly excited. Excessive stress can lead to health issues. Please refrain from grooming your bunny for the first few weeks to give them time to adjust to their new space and to build trust.

Grooming instructions.

The key piece of equipment for grooming is a pet grooming blower. To help your bunny get accustomed to the blower, turn it on in the same room so he/she can familiarize with the sound. Afterwards, slowly introduce sensation by using the blower on its lowest setting, gently blowing air onto the bunny to help them adjust to the sensation of the blower. Keep the initial sessions brief to prevent any stress for the bunny. The correct technique for blowing out bunny wool is to set the blower to a higher setting, hold the nozzle about 12 inches away from the skin, and blow in small circles to detangle the wool and remove dander.

Other effective grooming tools include a metal wide-tooth comb and a slicker brush, which are great for brushing delicate areas like the ears, face, and pads of the feet.

About every three months, the bunny will require a haircut. I like to use clippers for shaving my bunnies. A budget-friendly option is the GImars clippers available on Amazon. A high-end pair that I recommend is the Wahl Bravera. If scissors are more convenient for you, feel free to use them. Regardless of the method you choose, take your time and ensure that you have a clear view of what you are clipping, as rabbit skin is very delicate.
